Chittaranjan Park, often referred to as Delhi’s mini Kolkata, is renowned for its vibrant Durga Puja celebrations. The area is adorned with grand pandals, food stalls, and cultural events that attract thousands of visitors from across the city. The Kali Mandir complex in CR Park, established in the 1970s, serves as a spiritual and cultural hub for the Bengali community.

In preparation for the Prime Minister’s visit, the Special Protection Group conducted a security assessment of the area. To ensure smooth movement and crowd control, residents were asked to remove vehicles from main approach roads, while vendors and hawkers were instructed to temporarily vacate designated spots. The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory, cautioning commuters about likely congestion on arterial roads and suggesting alternative routes.

The Prime Minister’s participation in the celebrations is seen as a gesture of cultural solidarity and a tribute to the deep-rooted traditions associated with Durga Puja, one of India’s most widely celebrated festivals.
