Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is not just about promoting sports, but about harnessing the energy and creativity of the youth to build a better future for India, said Union Minister Harsh Malhotra on Sunday.
Malhotra hosted a ‘Namo Run’ event in East Delhi’s Yamuna Sports Complex, highlighting the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, promoting fitness and road safety.
This event was held as part of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025, with the main theme being ‘road safety.’
The run was flagged off by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, which witnessed participation of over 6,000 people, mainly youth.

Malhotra said that PM Modi has been a strong advocate for sports and fitness, emphasising the importance of physical activity in building a healthy and productive nation.
He further said that PM’s vision is not just about promoting sports, but about harnessing the energy and creativity of the youth to build a better future for India, and the ‘Namo Run’ is a testament to the government’s commitment to promoting sports.
Mahotra said that the aim is to create a sports ecosystem that encourages participation, promotes excellence, and provides opportunities for young athletes to excel.
The Union Minister said that the massive turnout, with participants showing great enthusiasm and energy, provided a platform for people to come together and celebrate their love for sports, and also raise awareness regarding road safety, which is a crucial subject.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Rekha Gupta emphasised the importance of fitness and road safety, urging participants to make a conscious effort to follow traffic rules and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Gupta highlighted the government’s initiatives to promote sports and fitness in the city and encouraged participants to take advantage of these programs.
Appreciating the enthusiastic participation from the youth, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, who was also present on the occasion, said that after looking at the energy of the young people, it has given a boost to the confidence that everyone will together certainly achieve the target of a Viksit Delhi and a Viksit Bharat.
