A new milestone in the aviation sector was achieved with the opening of Phase I of Noida International Airport on Saturday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the much-awaited aviation hub in Jewar. Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Uttara Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present on the occasion.
Positioned as a game-changer for connectivity in North India, the airport marks a major push in the region’s infrastructure development. It becomes NCR’s second international airport, strengthening India’s global aviation footprint.

Built at an investment of around ₹11,200 crore under the PPP model, the airport is set to emerge as a key gateway for the National Capital Region. Once operational, it will complement Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, easing congestion while boosting passenger and cargo movement across Noida, Greater Noida, and beyond.
