The Patna Civil Court on Saturday, June 27, deferred the hearing in the anticipatory bail plea of Faisal Khan, famously known as ‘Khan Sir,’ and fixed June 30 as the next date of hearing.

The court has granted more time to examine the updated case diary submitted by the police. This means, that the interim protection from arrest granted to Khan will continue until the next hearing.

The Kadamkuan police had submitted the updated case diary before the court, while the court granted three days for its examination before hearing the final arguments.

Advocate Arvind Kumar Mauar, appearing for Khan Sir, opposed further adjournments in the matter and argued in court that the government counsel had already received the updated case diary and that arguments could be completed earlier.

However, the Public Prosecutor and counsel representing Roshan Anand sought extra time to study the contents and legal aspects of the case diary, IANS reported.

The court accepted the request and adjourned the matter till June 30. Notably, the court will also hear the bail applications of Khan’s two personal security guards on the same day.

Both security personnel remain in judicial custody in connection with the firing case.

As per the police case diary, investigators have reportedly concluded that the June 2 firing incident was not an act of self-defense, with officials alleging that the firing was intended to create panic.

Investigators have noted that Faisal Khan’s name was subsequently added to the FIR during the course of the investigation.
