Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that Pakistan has been “given AN adequate response by our soldiers during the Operation Sindoor, and that the neighbouring country would now think “a hundred times” before resorting to any misadventure against India.
Speaking at the ceremonial “Bada Khana” with soldiers in Jaisalmer on Thursday night, Singh said, “Being a border area, this station holds special significance. Over the past few years, the government has undertaken several initiatives to develop border areas, which have gradually made life and work easier for all of you.

“However, being in the vicinity of Pakistan does not allow us to feel completely at ease; we need to be consistent in maintaining a high level of alertness.”
“Just a few days ago, our brave pilots delivered an adequate and effective response to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. Now, before attempting any misadventure against India, Pakistan would think ‘a hundred times’.”
“Kyonki ab Pakistan ko pata hai ki usne dubara harkat ki toh parinaam kya hoga (Pakistan now knows well the consequences if it repeats any misadventure),” the Defence Minister asserted, warning the neighbouring country of dire repercussions in the event of any strike against India.
“Operation Sindoor is not over; it has only been deferred. During the operation, our brave pilots had merely gone to gauge the situation there (haal-chaal janane gaye the). Their limited sorties into that country proved devastating to the neighbouring nation. One can only imagine the impact of a full-scale mission,” Singh said.
The Defence Minister arrived in Jaisalmer on Thursday evening for a three-day visit. He visited the “Shaurya Van” and attended the Bada Khana with Army officers and soldiers. Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, and other dignitaries were also present.
Singh visited the Tanot Border Post on Friday morning to pay obeisance at the Tanot Mata Shrine. “Feeling blessed by the temple’s immense energy,” he said. Later, he proceeded to the Longewala Border Post to pay tribute to martyrs at the war memorial and interacted with soldiers stationed there.
The Defence Minister also inaugurated the Shaurya Van, a Cacti-cum- Botanical Garden in Jaisalmer, in the presence of Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.
The Shaurya Van, a transformation of the Thar desert into a vibrant oasis, symbolises the Indian Army’s commitment to nation-building and environmental stewardship. “Shaurya Van embodies resilience, innovation, and ecological sustainability,” according to a Ministry of Defence post on social media.
The Defence Minister later attended the Army Commanders’ Conference.
