In a major success against cross-border narcotics smuggling, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police have seized 27 kilograms of heroin in a joint operation conducted near the India-Pakistan international border.

As many as 167 cases were detected, leading to the arrest of 40 individuals. The enforcement squads seized 12,388 bulk litres of illicitly distilled liquor and 328 bulk litres of duty-paid liquor. Besides, it destroyed more than 1,16,975 litres of wash.
“Today’s order strengthens the hope and trust that people place in the Hon’ble Supreme Court to safeguard religious rights of the Muslim minority community and to uphold the Constitution,” he wrote on his ‘X’ handle and added that this was a major step in undoing the unconstitutional and illegal amendments made to the Waqf Act.
"In particular, the requirement that only individuals practising Islam for ve years could create waqf was a blatant attempt to restrict the rights of minorities. These changes were clearly part of a broader design to stigmatise the Muslim community, deepen communal divisions, and open the way for arbitrary takeover of Waqf assets," Kumar said.
Congress media cell Chairman Pawan Khera alleged that the move is a clear example of favoritism towards Adani by the BJP-led government.
