After consecrating the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that Lord Ram has finally arrived at his birthplace after decades of wait and that Ram Lalla will no longer reside in a tent.
Addressing the guests after the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony at the Shri Ram Janmaboomi Temple in Ayodhya, Modi said, “Today, I also apologise to Lord Shri Ram. There must be something lacking in our effort, sacrifice and penance that we could not do this work for so many centuries. Today the work has been completed. I believe that Lord Shri Ram will definitely forgive us today.”
Modi said that the sunrise of January 22 is not just a date in the calendar but “origin of a new time cycle.”

Highlighting the decades-long legal battle over the ownership of Ram Janmabhoomi, the prime minister also expressed his gratitude towards the judiciary for “doing justice”.
“In that period, the separation (Lord Ram’s vanvas) lasted only for 14 years…In this era, Ayodhya and the countrymen have endured hundreds of years of separation. Many of our generations have suffered this separation…,” the prime minister said.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that Ram Lalla has returned to Ayodhya after a wait of 500 years.
“…due to his efforts we are seeing this golden day today, we pay our utmost respect to him (Ram Lalla). The history of this era has so much power that whoever listens to the stories of Ram Lalla, all their sorrows and pains will be erased,” Bhagwat said.
Speaking on the ocassion, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said that streets to Ayodhya will not echo with gunshots any more and that the establishment of Ram Lalla is “an announcement of Ram Rajya”.
“Now the streets of Ayodhya won’t echo with gunshots. There will be no curfew. Now there will be Deepotsav and Ramotsav here. Shri Ram’s name ‘Sankirtan’ will echo in the streets because the establishment of Ram Lalla here is the announcement of Ram Rajya…,” the UP CM said.
