Even as the Supreme Court hears the plea seeking independent probe into the death of Special CBI court judge BH Loya, leaders of opposition will meet president Ram Nath Kovind here on Friday seeking further investigation into the matter.

The delegation led by the Congress will meet Kovind at 5 pm and will submit a plea for further investigation into the matter.

The SC hearing on the plea seeking independent probe into the death of the Special CBI court judge has witnessed unruly scenes inside the courtroom with lawyers from the opposing sides exchanging barbs.

Such was the commotion that the apex court warned that the courtroom should not be reduced to the level of a “fish market” following a heated verbal duel between two senior lawyers Dushyant Dave and Pallav Shishodia.

Loya, who was hearing the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case, had died allegedly of cardiac arrest in Nagpur on December 1, 2014 when he had gone to attend the wedding of a colleague’s daughter.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah was an accused in the case but was later acquitted.
