COVID-19 case detected in Varanasi; patient admitted to BHU Hospital with breathing difficulties
Following a new COVID-19 case in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, the health department has appealed to the public to remain vigilant.
Claiming that Odisha is fully prepared to tackle any possible resurgence of COVID-19, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling said on Tuesday that the public has no reason to panic as the state has implemented all necessary preparedness measures.
Chairing a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan here, the Minister assessed the State’s readiness and contingency plans to deal with any emerging COVID-19 situation.

He said the Odisha Government is maintaining close coordination with the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and is equipped to respond effectively to any eventuality.

Mahaling urged people not to be misled by rumours or misinformation and appealed to them to remain vigilant while following essential health and hygiene protocols.
The review meeting was attended by Health Secretary Aswathy S., National Health Mission Director Brunda D., and senior officials of the Health and Family Welfare Department, who reviewed the State’s preparedness, surveillance mechanism and response strategy.
