The Supreme Court on Friday asked a batch of 14 petitioners seeking the deposit of their demonetised currency notes to impleaded themselves before the constitution bench for redressal of their grievances.

A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud said that besides raising their grievance, the petitioners could also assist the court in the adjudication of the challenge to the constitutional validity of the demonetisation decision.

Attorney General K.K. Venugopal said that the government will not take any coercive action against them for possessing demonetised currency.
