Kerala CM suspense may end tomorrow; Congress says discussions over, announcement expected from Delhi

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee ( KPCC) president Sunny Joseph on Saturday admitted that the Rahul Makkutathil issue has created some discomfort for the Congress in Kerala. However, he dismissed the demand for the resignation of Rahul as MLA.
Speaking to media persons here,Sunny Joseph said there is no justification for the demand for Rahul’s resignation as MLA , as there is no such precedent.

He said no party has the moral or legal right to demand the resignation of Rahul
There are MLAs in the present assembly,who have been charged with far more serious cases, including rape. None of them have resigned their MLA positions.Then why Rahul’s resignation is being sought?, he asked.

Meanwhile, despite the protests of CPI-M and BJP seeking the resignation of Rahul, a section of Congress leaders belonging to the ‘A’ group are reportedly planning to bring him (Rahul) to Palakkad to take part in the upcoming Onam celebrations. However, another section of Congress leaders have expressed displeasure over the move.
A meeting was reportedly held in Palakkad under the leadership of Shafi Parambil MP at the residence of KPCC general secretary Chandran on Wednesday to discuss the matter of bringing Rahul to Palakkad.
