Political leaders across parties on Monday extended birthday wishes to Bihar’s most prominent leader and Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad Yadav on his 71st birthday.

The RJD chief, who has been convicted in four fodder scam cases, is currently out on a six-week provisional bail. The Jharkhand high court granted him the interim relief on medical grounds.

As per media reports, Tejashwi Yadav along with Rabri Devi, Tej Pratap Yadav celebrated their father’s birthday by cutting a 71-pound cake. However, Lalu Prasad Yadav was not present during the celebrations, due to health concerns.

Earlier, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav took to Twitter to wish his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, on his birthday.

Former Health Minister of Bihar Tej Pratap Yadav in a tweet wished his father on his 71st birthday and called him a great personality, who has the passion to fight for communal harmony.

Rashtriya Janata Dal party also wished their president on his birthday.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also took to Twitter to extend birthday greeting to Lalu Prasad Yadav, while wishing him speedy recovery.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wished “good health and happiness” to RJD chief.

On RJD chief’s birthday, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren in a tweet said  “Wishing @laluprasadrjd ji a happy 71st birthday. I pray for his long life and happiness”.

Earlier, on the eve of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s 71st birthday, a blood donation camp was inaugurated at party’s headquarters in Patna by Tejashwi Yadav, where he exhorted people to participate in charities and said “blood donation was the biggest example of charity”.
