Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan expressed his happiness over the launch of the ‘Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojana’ in Punjab on Thursday, stating that this initiative will prove to be a historic milestone in strengthening the state’s healthcare system.

He said that medical treatment for any poor or middle-class family will no longer be disrupted due to financial constraints. Under this scheme, every resident of Punjab will be entitled to free health insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh per year.

Patients will not be required to deposit even a single rupee at hospitals, as all medical expenses will be paid directly by the Punjab government.

The Speaker further highlighted that the facility will be available not only in government hospitals but also in empanelled private hospitals. The scheme is applicable to every resident of Punjab, without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, or political affiliation.

Kultar Singh Sandhwan also urged the people of Punjab to adopt regular exercise and yoga in their daily lives to remain healthy and lead a happy life.
