MP economic survey claims 15.62% increase in per capita income

According to the survey, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of the state rose by 16.43 per cent, as compared to the previous financial year.

The BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday presented its economic survey for 2022-23 in the state Assembly, claiming a 15.62 per cent increase in the per capita income and a 16.43 per cent increase in the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), as compared to the last financial year.

As per the survey presented in the ongoing budget session of the Assembly, the state’s GSDP in 2021-22 was Rs 11.36 lakh crore, which has increased to Rs 13.22 lakh crore in the present fiscal.

The per capita income for 2022-23 has gone up to more than Rs 1.40 lakh, as against the income for 2021-22 that was around Rs 1.21 lakh.

The government said the state’s growth rate has become 26.43 per cent.

MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed happiness on the economic survey. He said the survey proves that MP is growing economically at a fast pace. The CM said the economic survey also shows that the state’s revenues is continuously increasing and the so is the size of the budget.

MP Finance Minister Jagdish Devra is scheduled to present the state’s first ever paperless budget in the State Assembly on 1 March.
