Through a message on X, he extended his best wishes to wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists dedicated to safeguarding the cheetah, describing the project as a vital stride toward ecological restoration.

“Three years ago, our Government launched Project Cheetah to protect this magnificent animal and restore its natural ecosystem. It also aimed to revive our lost ecological heritage and strengthen biodiversity,” he added.

Launched in 2020, the cheetah reintroduction program seeks to restore the species in its historic Indian habitats, aiming to reverse years of decline and local extinction. Beyond ensuring the survival of cheetahs, the initiative also works to enhance regional ecological balance and biodiversity.

The article by Union minister Bhupender Yadav, shared by the Prime Minister, highlighted the government’s continued commitment and scientific strategies to secure a flourishing future for cheetahs in India’s wild landscapes.

The government’s conservation efforts offer hope for wildlife preservation, encouraging greater involvement from citizens and environmental advocates alike.
