This move comes on the heels of a massive turnout at her recent Lucknow rally, held on the death anniversary of BSP founder Kanshi Ram. Buoyed by that energy, the party plans nearly two dozen rallies across Bihar to boost its prospects.
Earlier, BSP National Convenor Akash Anand toured Bihar, working to strengthen the party’s grassroots network. Now, with Mayawati stepping in directly, BSP is focused on solidifying its Dalit vote bank and widening its footprint in the state.
Mayawati had announced that the BSP will contest nearly all 243 assembly seats in Bihar independently, without forming any alliances.
The party has announced 128 candidates so far. Additionally, a list of 40 star campaigners, including Mayawati and her nephew Akash Anand, has been released to lead the campaign.
Mayawati’s rallies are drawing the biggest crowds, with key leaders like Anand, Ramji Gautam, and Dr. Lalji Medhankar also hitting the ground to back the candidates.
At a high-level meet on October 16, Mayawati reviewed election preparations with Anand, who shared a report highlighting the growing fissures within the INDIA alliance and the potential vote-splitting impact of Prashant Kishor’s party. Based on this, Mayawati has called on party workers to intensify booth-level activities to maximize voter outreach.
