Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam arrived in Kashi on Wednesday evening on a three-day visit to the religious city and the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Navinchandra Ramgoolam reached Hotel Taj by road from Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. Welcome points were made at six places on the way, where Kashi residents and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers gave him a grand welcome.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and state Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna welcomed him at the airport.
Artists from Azamgarh presented Lilli Ghodi Dhobiya dance to welcome the prime minister of Mauritius in Gilt Bazaar, while schoolchildren welcomed him with the flags of both the countries in different forms.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Varanasi at around 11 am and will hold bilateral talks with visiting dignitary at Hotel Taj in Nadesar.
Varanasi District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar said bilateral talks between the Mauritius prime minister and India prime minister will be held at Hotel Taj on September 11. The Mauritius prime minister will be given a grand welcome with cultural programs at the airport and on the road.
On September 11, the Ramgoolam will board a cruise from Ravidas Ghat and witness the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. On the same day, he will also visit Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The delegation accompanying him will also visit Ganga and worship at Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for Delhi tomorrow afternoon after the bilateral talks. The Mauritius PM will leave for Ayodhya on Friday.
BJP city President Pradeep Agrahari said the bilateral talks would be held between the prime ministers of the two countries tomorrow and this will send a different message from Kashi to the entire international platform. Kashi will not only set an example of cultural identity but also of religious tourism in the times to come.
After 2014, the picture of Kashi has completely changed after Narendra Modi represented the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat. Kashi is making its own identity on the global stage.
