Railways Minister Ashwani Vaishnav has assured that major cities of Rajasthan will be made free of traffic hassles at the level crossings.

The minister, while inspecting state of affairs and functional activities at the Jaipur Main railway station here Thursday, said, “The level crossings in big cities would be replaced by railway over bridges (RoBs) or the under- passes.”

He said, “A detailed plan will be chalked out for the purpose within the next three month. The plan will include big cities from all zones of the state.”

The scheme would be implemented in a speedy manner after being approved duly by the Centre, the railways minister stated.

Efforts are also being made for early launch of overnight train service between Delhi and Jaisalmer, he said.

Later, he undertook an inspection of the Khatipura railway station here. At the station, he inspected Integrated Coach premises and the Railway Coach Restaurant.

“A modern and vast Railway Maintenance Facility was planned to be established at Khatipura which would have the capacity of providing maintenance to 12 to 18 trains at a time, simultaneously. This facility would be capable of doing maintenance to all (types of) trains, including the Vande Bharat trains,” he added.

During his day-long visit, Minister Vaishnav attended many programmes, including one function under the aegis of Laghu Udyog Bharati.
