The Uttarakhand Police on Tuesday arrested the main accused in UKSSSC paper leak case, Khalid, along with his Sister, Sabia, on Sunday during the examination held for the selections of patwaris, BDOs, and other subordinate services in the state.
According to the police, Khalid is accused of sending three papers carrying 12 questions from the examination centre through WhatsApp to his sister, who got solutions from her friend Suman. “It came to light that Khalid clicked photographs of three pages of the question paper carrying 12 questions. Baluni further claimed that Suman gew suspicious of Sabia when the latter asked her to solve 12 questions. “Suman asked Sabia what kind of examination it was for which the latter was asking for a solution. To this, Sabia replied that her brother was sitting in the examination centre. Suman recorded her conversation with Sabia and shared the details with the police during investigation,” said Baluni, adding, “Following this Sabia was arrested.”
The police, however, denied that Khalid’s act was not part of any organised crime, but was an act of an individual. The main accused and his sister were arrested and sent to judicial remand.
“Key focus of the investigation was to find if Khalid was part of any organised crime for paper leaks, but it was not established. Further investigation is on and more details will be out by tomorrow,” said Dehradun SSP Ajai Singh.
