Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged athletes from across the globe to help spread awareness about yoga beyond the World Yogasana Championship.

The Madras High Court on Thursday permitted Tamil Nadu government to put up flex boards to welcome President of China Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi who are slated to meet this month at Mamallapuram, nearly 60 km from Chennai.
However the court has given permission for displaying the banners from Chennai airport to Mamallapuram only. A division bench comprising Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice N Seshasayee took up the petition filed by commissioner of municipal administration on behalf of the government for hearing.

The 23-year-old woman riding a two-wheeler was run over by a tanker after a hoarding crashed on her in a city suburb.
Following outrage over the incident, political parties asked their respective cadre to stop erecting hoardings and banners.
