Jammu LS seat witnesses brisk polling: 25.93 % voting till 11am
Polling in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Jammu Constituency began with enthusiasm, especially among the new voters.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday conducted an on-site inspection of the construction work of ‘Balidan Stambh’ at Pratap Park in Srinagar.
The Lt Governor emphasised on timely completion of the prestigious project.
The foundation stone for the Balidan Stambh was laid by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to Srinagar in June last year.
He has said Jammu and Kashmir is the land of indomitable courage and bravery of nation’s bravehearts, and to immortalise the valour of such heroes, the foundation stone of the ‘ Balidan Stambh’ was laid.
The Stambh will inspire patriotism among the youth by immortalising the memory of the martyrs, he had added.
