Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, launched a sharp attack on the Bihar government on Sunday, alleging that corruption and criminals dominate under the NDA government. He referred to alleged atrocities being committed against minor girls and women and questioned the government’s silence on these issues. Tejashwi also criticised the police action.
In a press statement, the RJD leader alleged that ”the insensitive Nitish Kumar government in Bihar, formed through vote-buying, is inflicting injustice across the state on minor girls, students, daughters, and women.”

”Since these atrocities are patronised by those in power, the government’s decision-makers are maintaining silence on these spine-chilling and horrific incidents and are pretending to be saints,” he claimed.
He further alleged that, “The gang-rape and murder of a widow in Madhepura, the gang-rape and brutal murder of a four-year-old minor girl in Khagaria, and the sexual assault and murder of a NEET aspirant from Jehanabad in Patna, followed by the state-sponsored cover-up, show that this government has become ruthless, cruel, and inhuman.”
“Law and order in Bihar has completely collapsed. The Chief Minister’s silence is criminal,” he charged.
Responding to the allegations, Janata Dal (United) Bihar state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha accused the RJD leader of spreading misinformation due to a lack of facts. He said that the Nitish government has remained steadfast in its zero-tolerance policy on crime since 2005 and has enforced it strictly.
He said, “The incident in Madhepura referred to by the Leader of the Opposition saw the government constitute an SIT, and the accused were arrested and sent behind bars. Similarly, in the Khagaria case, the administration acted promptly, arrested the accused, and sent them to jail.”
“The incident involving the NEET student is extremely tragic. In this case as well, the government has constituted an SIT, and a thorough investigation is underway. The hostel operator has also been arrested and sent to jail. After the investigation, strict action will be taken against all those found guilty. No one will be spared,” he added.
