A Delhi Police Special Cell Head Constable allegedly killed a labourer and injured another as he opened fire on them following an altercation in Dwarka, police said on Sunday.
Following the incident, the accused policeman fled the scene and is currently absconding, with a manhunt on to nab him.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 2 am last night in Jaffarpur Kalan area of Dwarka when the accused Head Constable, identified as Neeraj, allegedly opened fire at labourers.
While one labourer died, another is seriously injured. Police said that an argument broke out between the labourers and the personnel over noise, which led to the incident.
“At around 2 am last night in Jaffarpur Kalan, Dwarka, Head Constable Neeraj, posted with the Special Cell, allegedly opened fire, leaving one labourer dead and injuring another. The labourers were partying, and an argument broke out over the noise, which led to this incident,” Delhi Police said.
The police further stated that an investigation is being conducted to ascertain whether the accused Head Constable was drunk at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, a murder case has been registered and a search is on to nab the absconding accused.
“The accused is absconding, and a search is underway. The police have registered a murder case and initiated an investigation. After conducting a post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the family,” the Delhi Police added.
