In a message posted on social media platform X, Kharge said he was “deeply saddened” by Roy’s demise and extended condolences to his family and supporters.

“Deeply saddened by the passing of Former union Minister, Shri Mukul Roy. Having started his political career with the Indian Youth Congress, he sincerely worked for the people of West Bengal. His organisational skills and deep understanding of grassroots politics earned him respect across party lines. My heartfelt condolences to his family, supporters and all those who mourn his loss,” Kharge wrote.
