Pune Rural Police on Wednesday took murder accused Chetan Chaudhary to Lohagad Fort to conduct a crime scene reconstruction and forensic gait analysis in the ongoing investigation into the death of Ketan Agarwal.
The exercise forms part of the police investigation to verify evidence related to the case. Officials had already completed a similar reconstruction with co-accused Siya Goyal, while the procedure involving Chaudhary was pending.

Police used the visit to recreate the sequence of events at the fort and carry out gait analysis, a forensic technique that compares a person’s walking pattern with footage captured on surveillance cameras or videos.
Authorities had earlier closed Lohagad Fort to visitors while undertaking investigative procedures linked to the case. Tourists present at the site were evacuated before police began the reconstruction.
What is gait analysis?
A suspect’s walk can sometimes become as important as their face. Through gait analysis, forensic experts examine a person’s walking or running pattern and compare it with CCTV footage to establish whether the movements match.
Investigation into Ketan Agarwal’s death
Ketan Agarwal died after falling from Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18. Police later registered a case and alleged that prime accused Siya Goyal, who was engaged to Agarwal, did not wish to marry at that stage of her life and was facing pressure from her family to proceed with the marriage.
Siya Goyal and her friend Chetan Chaudhary were arrested on June 23. Both remain in police custody till July 3 following an order passed by the Vadgaon Maval court.
The Maharashtra government has approved a fast-track court for the case and appointed senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Ujjwal Nikam as the Special Public Prosecutor.
The decision came after the victim’s father met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Pune and sought a speedy trial. The Chief Minister assured the family that strict action would be taken and the case would be fast-tracked.
