The Kerala Police, on Monday, arrested a man who was accused of hurling abuses at Kerala High Court Chief Justice S ManiKumar and trying to block his car.

The incident occurred at 11 pm on Sunday, when the justice was going to his official residence in Kochi from airport.

The accused Dijo, a native of Udumbanchola in Idukki, is said to have hurled abuses at the chief justice after blocking his car near the Gosree Bridge in Kochi. He was heard saying, “This is not Tamil Nadu”.

The police said the attacker was in an inebriated state at the time of the attack. He also tried to manhandle the security officer of the chief justice.

The Mulavakkad police booked the attacker with charges under section 308 of IPC based on a complaint filed by the security officer of the chief justice.

The motive behind the attack and abuse is not known. The police are investigating whether the incident has any connection with any legal case.
