In his address, the chief guest of the programme, Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, praised the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, stating that this event is a significant platform that uniquely connects two ancient and rich cultural traditions of the country.
He said, “Although we speak different languages and have different perspectives, our shared value system and Constitution bind us together. Language is not a barrier, but a bridge that connects Tamil Nadu and Kashi like a family.
Highlighting the spirituality and charm of Banaras, the Minister of State said, “Who wouldn’t want to come to Banaras? This city itself draws people towards it.” He described BHU not merely as an educational institution, but as a powerful social institution.
Commenting on the changing global scenario, Jayant Chaudhary said that the pace of change today is measured not in years, but in moments. In such times, it is natural to expect achievements like unicorn startups, new research, and patents from BHU. Sharing his experience, he said that today’s youth are multilingual, sensitive, and have a global perspective. He encouraged the students to learn international languages.
In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor of BHU, Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, extended a warm welcome to the guests from Tamil Nadu.
He said that the relationship between Kashi and Tamil Nadu, based on spiritual, cultural, and knowledge traditions, is centuries old. Shaiva-Vaishnava traditions, monasteries, saints, scholars, and pilgrimages have connected these two regions with an invisible bridge.
