J&K: Police arrest 19-year-old in Bathindi for alleged terror conspiracy

A 19-year-old who was radicalized online and planning a terror strike was arrested here by the police.

The police said that the boy, a resident of Reasi, was residing in the Bathindi locality here.

He has emerged as a key suspect in an earlier terror case. Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused was being radicalised online and was allegedly planning to carry out a terror act.

It has also surfaced that he was in touch over the phone with certain mobile numbers based in Pakistan and other foreign countries, police said.

The suspect’s digital devices have been seized and are being examined and analysed. Detailed questioning of the arrested youth and a thorough investigation is underway, police added.
