Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday questioned the tripartite alliance between TDP, BJP and Jana Sena asking if they fulfilled any of the promises they had made in 2014 including special status to the state when they fought the elections together.
Addressing a public rally that doubled up as a show of strength after the announcement of the alliance yesterday, Reddy launched a frontal attack on the Opposition, particularly TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who, he said, had gone to New Delhi with Pawan Kalyan and waited for days to seal the alliance.
At the rally at the Bapatla constituency, aimed to prepare YSRCP cadre for the upcoming electoral battle, Jagan said Naidu’s cycle (TDP’s election symbol) was rusty and hence required other parties to get a push. “Naidu’s position is zero and will remain zero no matter how many allies it is multiplied by,” said Reddy.

He also questioned the prime minister on the special status promised to the state, saying, “What happened to the special status to our Andhra Pradesh from 2014-19?”
Drawing a comparison between himself, who relies on his own actions, and Naidu, who was dependent on other parties to win elections, he said the tripartite alliance had parties who are for feudal people while he stood for the poor.
“Chandrababu Naidu, along with his tripartite alliance and another national party in his pocket, is ready to attack our poor people,” Reddy alleged.
In a dig at the BJP, he said, “The alliance consists of parties that have bifurcated AP in an unjust manner and parties that got fewer votes than NOTA.”
He further said that there were leaders in the alliance who had no army behind them. Accusing Naidu of copying from other states in his manifesto, the YSRCP chief promised to release a feasible manifesto very soon.
