Yogi assures Uttarakhand criminals fleeing UP won’t sneak into hill state
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Sunday that the criminals and mafia fleeing his state cannot enter the Uttarakhand.

A policeman lost his life during an early morning encounter with militants in Batmaloo area on Sunday, police said. The J-K encounter also left three security forces personnel injured.
“On a specific information about presence of terrorists in a hideout, an operation was launched in Batmaloo Srinagar leading to exchange of fire, one SOG boy martyred, one JKP & 2 CRPF Jawans sustained injuries, operation continues,” Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid posted on Twitter.

According to the police, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Diyarwani in Batmaloo area of Srinagar in the early hours of Sunday following a tip-off about the presence of militants in the area.
The search operation turned into an encounter as the militants started firing, forcing the team to retaliate, agency reports quoted an official as saying.
Further details are awaited.
Authorities have suspended mobile internet services in Srinagar as a precautionary measure.
