Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav, while stating that the election commission’s job should be to increase voter turnout, lamented that in Uttar Pradesh, the process of slashing nearly 30 million votes is underway.

Akhilesh Yadav, who arrived in Hyderabad, Telangana, on Friday, to attend the “Vision India: AI Summit” organized by the Samajwadi Party on Saturday. The event focuses on the future impact of technology and AI (Artificial Intelligence).
Talking to the media, the SP chief alleged is a conspiracy against democracy as the SIR process has taken the form of the NRC, forcing people to search for unnecessary documents even though the Aadhaar card already contains all the necessary information about the citizens. He said today, India is going through a period where people are facing difficulties at every level. “The solution to these problems is possible only through a positive, realistic, and progressive vision, and ‘Vision India’ is a step in that direction,” he added.
He pointed out that today the influence of AI is rapidly expanding in every sector, including agriculture, medicine, and industry. Hyderabad is a major technology hub, where remarkable work has been done, which is why the Samajwadi Party has organized the Vision India program here. He said that the discussion should not be about political divisions, but about vision and progressive politics.
Yadav further said that the BJP has been constantly harassing the public through demonetization, GST, inflation, the chaos of the COVID-19 period, and now through the SIR. “How will democracy survive when the people no longer vote?”
On the question of Vande Mataram, he said those who did not sing Vande Mataram during the freedom movement and did not sing it later are now playing politics on it.
He pointed out that former Telangana Chief Minister KCR and former Minister KTR are old allies of the Samajwadi Party and he will remain with them in the future. On reaching Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also welcomed Akhilesh Yadav and met him.
