Bagdogra-bound IndiGo flight makes emergency landing in Lucknow after bomb threat

According to airport sources, ATC received a bomb threat on IndiGo flight 6E-6650 at 8.46 am on Sunday. The plane landed at Lucknow airport at 9.17 am. After disembarking the passengers, the plane was parked in the isolation bay.

An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Bagdogra made an emergency landing at the Chaudhury Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow on Sunday following a bomb threat.

According to airport sources, ATC received a bomb threat on IndiGo flight 6E-6650 at 8.46 am on Sunday. The plane landed at Lucknow airport at 9.17 am. After disembarking the passengers, the plane was parked in the isolation bay.

According to reports, a threatening message was found on a napkin inside the plane’s bathroom. It read, “There’s a bomb on the plane.” A passenger spotted the napkin and informed a crew member. The flight was then immediately diverted to Lucknow. Bomb squads, fire brigade, medical personnel, and other security agencies surrounded the plane.

Officials from other security agencies are also closely investigating the matter. Altogether 238 people were on board, including 230 passengers—8 of them children—6 crew members, and 2 pilots. All were safely disembarked after checking. The luggage was checked inside.
