The figures were reviewed on Friday at the third meeting of the Mission Steering Group (MSG) of ABDM, chaired by Union Health Minister and MSG Chairperson Jagat Prakash Nadda, to assess the mission’s progress and chart its future roadmap.
According to the Health Ministry, around 2.72 lakh healthcare facilities have adopted ABDM-enabled software while nearly 24 crore Scan & Register tokens have been generated to facilitate faster outpatient department (OPD) registration and consent-based sharing of health records.
Addressing the meeting, Nadda said digital public infrastructure has played a transformative role in improving access to quality healthcare, ensuring continuity of care and empowering citizens through secure, consent-based access to their health records. He stressed that technology should remain an enabler for achieving universal health coverage while ensuring inclusiveness and ease of access.
The Mission Steering Group reviewed the implementation of decisions taken at its previous meeting, including capacity-building initiatives, strengthening state-level implementation, integration of digital health platforms with government programmes, increased participation of private healthcare providers and international collaborations in digital health, the ministry said.
Members also reviewed the expansion of ABDM across states and Union Territories through initiatives such as Model Districts, Model Facilities and Aarogya Setu 2.0, along with integration with flagship schemes including Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, CGHS, ESIC and Nikshay.
According to officials, the meeting discussed measures to fast-track adoption of the digital health ecosystem, improve interoperability, strengthen governance and expand the use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Concluding the meeting, Nadda said the next phase should focus on increasing adoption and use of the digital health infrastructure created under the mission.
