It is peak mango season in India. The Alphonso harvest is at its richest, the Kesar at its most fragrant.
India has registered 187 Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours, as per the data issued by the Union Health Ministry on Friday.
The total caseload in the country rose to 4,50,24,735 with the addition of new cases of infections. These also included the JN.1 Covid variant cases.

According to the data, of the new cases, the highest were reported from Karnataka with 76 cases, Maharashtra 40 and West Bengal 18.

Two cases were reported from the national capital.
One more person succumbed to the disease, taking the death toll to 5,33,443. The death was reported from Maharashtra.
On a positive note, 276 people recuperated from the disease, taking the recovery tally to 4,44,89,618.
Active cases in the country stand at 1,674.
