Delhi swelters as temperatures stay above 40°C; rain likely from Wednesday
Delhi continued to reel under an intense spell of heat on Tuesday as temperatures across the city remained above the 40°C mark.
A Cessna aircraft took off from the IIT Kanpur airstrip at around 12:15 pm on Tuesday, with the mission of creating artificial rain in the capital. The IIT team had been fully prepared since morning, with experts closely monitoring the weather.

Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur ( IIT K) successfully executed a cloud-seeding operation over Delhi on Tuesday. According IIT K officials . a corridor measuring roughly 25 nautical miles in length and 4 nautical miles in width with the largest distance covered between Khekra and little north of Burari.

The first round involved six flares released at an altitude of nearly 4,000 feet above ground level, with a burn duration of 18.5 minutes.

The second flight took off at 3:55 pm, deploying eight flares at a higher altitude of around 5000-6,000 feet.
