Himachal Pradesh road accident: Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj’s brother among 3 dead

Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj’s younger brother Nitya Nand, 62, died a in a road accident in the hill state on Wednesday. The Himachal accident that took place near Chhaila Bazar around 7.30 pm left two more persons dead and 11 persons injured.

The 14 people were going from Kasumpti in Shimla to Rohru in a tempo traveller (HP 01 A 5099) to attend a wedding when the vehicle rolled down a gorge.

The injured were initially shifted to Theog Hospital, from where those seriously injured were referred to the Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla. The injured are Inder Sharma (52), Kalyan Singh (58), Pratap Singh (57), Joginder Singh (64), Surender Garg (49), Ranjeev Kuthiyala (53), Sukhdev (53), Sudheer Thakur (Age 54), Manmohan (51), Madan Kalanta (61), Sudhanshu (28).

Chief Minister Jairam Thakur later said all injured had been shifted to IGMC where their condition was being monitored. He expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the three deceased Nitya Nand (62), Kewal Sharma (60) and Anil Sharma (55).
