Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught a police sub-inspector (SI) red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 in the Nuh district.

Sharing this information on Friday, a spokesperson of the Bureau said that accused SI Bharatpal posted at Pinagwa police station in Nuh district was caught after a complaint of corruption was filed against him.

The accused was demanding bribe from a victim’s father for arresting the accused involved in a case. After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and the accused SI was nabbed while he was accepting the bribe.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act had been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
