On the 79th Independence Day on Friday, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said that the independence that we attained after making enormous sacrifices is at stake as, he alleged, the country is in grave danger under the BJP regime.
“The road after independence is very challenging. The BJP has put the country in trouble. The US is exerting undue pressure on us. It wants to forcibly impose its non-veg milk on India,” he said.

Speaking at a function, Akhilesh Yadav said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is a copycat who just repeats the words of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“There is a ban on education under the BJP rule. Fake cases are being filed against Samajwadi workers. In developed countries, people are not punished on the basis of religion and caste.”
On the development, he said, “In the nine years of the Yogi rule, leave alone semiconductor, even a cotton bomb was not made. Whatever development work has been done in the state has been done by the Samajwadi Party. The incumbent chief minister considers semiconductors a bus conductor.”
Dwelling on the history of independence, he alleged that the RSS was established by the British in pursuit of their divide and rule policy. “The BJP uses Hindu-Muslim binary to placate its parent organisation. They (the BJP) are indigenous in name while in their mindset is foreign. The BJP indulges in corruption and occupies lands,” he added.
The SP president said Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s constitution has to be saved. Removing the BJP from power is in national interest. The BJP government will not stand in front of the strength of the PDA. Under the Samajwadi Party government, students, youth, farmers, businessmen, along with the general public, will be happy. The constitution and democracy will be safe. Employment will be available through reservation, he announced.
