Climate activist Wangchuk was arrested in Leh on September 26 in the aftermath of violence and firing during a demonstration spearheaded by him. He was shifted to Central Jail here the same day. The activist has also been facing charges under the National Security Act (NSA).
Dignitaries and leaders from various parties and organisations have protested against the promulgation of the NSA against Wangchuk and demanded his release from Jail.
