‘They wanted a car’: Family alleges dowry harassment after Gwalior newlywed’s death
Police in Gwalior are probing allegations of dowry harassment after a 21-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide at her in-laws’ residence.
“The tractor driver was missing from the spot, but we have his number and are taking necessary action. The exact circumstances leading to this accident are still being investigated,” CSP Khan added.

Gwalior witnessed an accident early Sunday morning when a speeding car collided with a tractor near Malwa College in Maharajpura leaving at least five young men dead.
According to City Superintendent of Police Hina Khan, the car was traveling from Dabra when it crashed into the tractor between 6:00 and 6:30 am. “Our control room received the call early this morning. Police rushed to the spot immediately and found a white car with five boys inside, all of whom had died in the accident. They were friends traveling together,” she told ANI.

The victims’ bodies have been taken to the district hospital for post-mortem examinations. Preliminary reports suggest that some of the deceased belong to the Rajawat family from Adityapuram while the identities of the others are still not out.

The tractor driver was not at the scene when authorities arrived. However, police have his contact details and are actively pursuing him as part of the investigation.

Locals described the morning as tense and tragic, with many residents rushing to the scene after hearing about the crash. Malwa College, near where the accident took place is a busy area. Authorities are now urging drivers to exercise caution especially during early morning hours.
