Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said on Wednesday that the country is continuously progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the GST reform is a landmark decision for the nation. This decision will bring about a major change in the country’s economy in the future.
Speaking at a press conference held at the BJP office in Lucknow, Trivedi said that the GST reform decision is historic and that GST 2.0 will lead to economic empowerment of every section of the country.

Trivedi said, “Those who are calling GST a political decision are wrong. They should step aside from their political perspective and appreciate it.”

Responding to a question, Trivedi said that the government is working to make the new GST rates accessible to the public.
Regarding the question of making diesel and petrol GST-free, Trivedi said that this decision is taken by the GST Council and requires the consent of all governments.
Targeting the opposition over allegations of vote-rigging, Trivedi said the opposition often accused EVMs of being hacked, but when they win seats, they stop making such claims. He added that the hue and cry about vote-rigging is nothing more than propaganda.
