In banter on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan said here on Thursday that the suitable job for him was running a theatre company.

Speaking to media persons in Thrissur, the governor said, “He (the chief minister), on the one hand, directs SFI workers to organise protests against me, while on the other, directs the Kerala Police to provide protection to me. It would be better for him if he starts a theatre company.”

Governor Khan made the comments against the backdrop of the protests by the activists of SFI, the student wing of CPI-M, against him.

The SFI activists protested against the governor waving black flags on Thursday when he reached Saraswathi Vidyanikethan School, Engandiyur, Thrissur, to attend a function. The police arrested 15 SFI activists in connection with the incident.

The SFI workers protested against him on Wednesday too when he attended a convocation ceremony of the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) in Thrissur resulting in the arrest of more than 50 SFI activists.
