Congress committing dacoity on rights of OBCs, SCs, STs: PM
“Wherever it (Congress) can do it, it will try to loot the claims of the SCs, STs and OBCs and give them to others,” said Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday posted a tweet marking the fifth anniversary of the day he won the Lok Sabha elections and came to power.
In the middle of intense campaigning for one of the most charged Lok Sabha elections since Independence, the PM shared a photo of him waving to supporters on 16 May 2014 after the results of the Lok Sabha elections were announced.
“A memorable moment from this day, 5 years ago. With the blessings of 130 crore Indians, we’ve worked to fulfil aspirations and build a strong, secure & developed India,” he tweeted.

“Today the passion is higher & endeavour greater. We will continue serving people & their realising dreams,” he added.

On 16 May 2014, Modi, until then the Chief Minister of Gujarat, brought the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA to power with a massive majority.
The BJP won 282 seats and crossed the halfway mark in the 543-member Lok Sabha on its own. It was for the first time since 1984 that a party had managed to go past the mark. The 1984 elections brought 426 Congress MPs in the Lok Sabha.
With the allies, the NDA had a total of 336 seats in their bag.
On the contrary, the Congress managed to win only 44 seats. The humiliating loss meant that the 16th Lok Sabha was without an opposition since it requires at least 10 per cent of the total Lok Sabha seats for a party to be called an opposition.
While the BJP is aiming to ride on the Modi wave once again, the opposition has been relentlessly cornering the government by targeting it on issues such as demonetisation, GST, Rafale deal and polarisation.
