The Delhi government is taking decisive steps to make the national capital the most event-friendly city in the country. In this direction, Minister of Tourism and Art Kapil Mishra met Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya to discuss several important matters.
During the meeting, Mandaviya said the Central government was committed to making Delhi a global hub for live events and entertainment. By easing procedures and offering stadium rentals at concessional rates, the government aims to create a vibrant culture that benefits both artists and audiences.

Sports Secretary Hari Ranjan Rao, along with senior representatives from the Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) and the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), were present in the meeting.
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of development, extensive deliberations were held on how to develop Delhi as the leader of the Concert Economy and fully prepare it for hosting major international and national events.
The meeting was aimed at establishing Delhi as the largest hub for cultural activities and live entertainment.
Special focus was given to reducing rental charges and simplifying the event hosting processes at key stadiums, including Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi Indoor stadiums.
The Union minister announced that an annual event calendar will be displayed on the Sports Authority of India (SAI) websites, enabling organizers to access information in advance.
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra presented the roadmap for taking this initiative forward. “Our goal is to transform the national capital into a Global Event Hub. This initiative will not only boost tourism and employment but also elevate Delhi’s identity to new international heights, positioning the city as the ‘Global Live Entertainment Capital’.”
The meeting also discussed forming a committee to study stadium rental charges and permission procedures in detail. Additionally, the idea of preparing an annual event calendar for Delhi was considered.
Industry leaders, including Rajeev Jain (Chairman, PHDCCI Entertainment Committee), Ankur Kalra (General Secretary, EEMA) and others were also present in the meeting.
