Senior Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh on Saturday demanded the immediate registration of an FIR against Champat Rai, former General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, over allegations of misappropriation of donations received at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Addressing the media in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, Singh alleged that the BJP, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) were collectively responsible for the alleged irregularities.

“The entire responsibility for the alleged scam rests with the BJP, the RSS and the VHP,” he claimed.
Singh alleged that Champat Rai, who has long been associated with the RSS, projected himself as a person leading a simple life but was, according to him, involved in corrupt practices.
“Champat Rai has been associated with the RSS for many years. He pretends to lead a simple life, but in reality he is a corrupt person,” Singh alleged.
Reiterating his allegations, the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister claimed that the BJP, the RSS and the VHP were responsible for the alleged misappropriation of Ram Temple donations.
He also said the Congress would take up the issue at the grassroots level. “The Congress will reach out to households and inform people about this issue,” Singh said.
