An enraged man ruthlessly killed his elderly father Thursday night in Dhosi village, Khetri region of the Jhunjhunu district, over a protracted land dispute.
An enraged man ruthlessly killed his elderly father Thursday night in Dhosi village, Khetri region of the Jhunjhunu district, over a protracted land dispute.
A police spokesman said here Friday that the accused, Shamsher Singh (38), physically assaulted his father, Mahaveer Prasad (65) while he was sitting with some villagers. Shamsher started beating up the old man mercilessly, dragged him out on the road and repeatedly drove a tractor over his him.

Onlookers tried to intervene but to no avail. Doctors at the Khetri Sub Hospital declared the critically injured victim dead upon arrival.

Mahaveer Prasad’s son-in-law lodged an FIR at the Mehada police station. There was a dispute over land sharing between the father – son duo for past about three years. The accused has been seperated from his father following the dispute.
The postmortem was being conducted by a specially constituted medical board as the police was investigating the case keeping in mind all possible aspects and angles, the spokesman said.
