Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday ceremonially hoisted a saffron flag atop the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, marking the formal completion of its construction. Speaking shortly after the ceremony, PM Modi said today marks the completion of a centuries-long resolve. He further described the dharma-dhwaj (saffron flag) at the grand Ram Temple as “resurgence of Indian civilisation”.
“Today marks the completion of a centuries-long yajna, whose sacred flame burned for 500 years without wavering in faith or devotion. The divine energy of Lord Shri Ram now stands enshrined in the form of this dharma-dhwaj at the grand temple. This flag is not merely a symbol; it represents the resurgence of Indian civilisation,” the PM said.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir Dhwajarohan Ceremony – Highlights
The PM said the holy city of Ayodhya is witnessing another epochal event in its history, adding that entire India and the globe are immersed in Ram.
“The Sapt Mandapam… (at Ram Temple) strengthen the values of faith, friendship, duty and social harmony. Our Ram unites through emotion, not division, what matters to him is devotion, not lineage,” the PM said.
From the Ram Temple, the PM also gave a call for making India a developed country in the next 22 years when the nation will mark 100 years of its independence. “We will have to awaken the Ram within us to realise the goal of a developed India by 2047,” said the PM.
“A few days ago, I said that in the next 10 years, our target is to free India from the mentality of slavery. We attained independence, but we could not free ourselves from the sense of inferiority. We began to believe that anything of foreign origin is superior, and what is ours is inferior. It was said that our Constitution was inspired by foreign constitutions, but the truth is that India is the mother of democracy. Democracy is in our DNA,” Modi added.

What RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said
After the Dhwajarohan ceremony, RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat also addressed the gathering and said that those who sacrificed their lives for the Ram Temple, “their souls must have found peace today”.
“…Even if we ignore the struggle of centuries, it took at least 30 years to reach here. This saffron flag – the Bhagwa – is a dharma dhwaj which is now there atop the temple,” he said.
“Hindus have proven their ‘satva’ through a 500-year struggle, and now Ram Lalla is here, and this temple has been built. We must build a Bharat that offers truth to the world. The work of spreading dharma, knowledge and truth to the world has begun, and we must move forward with courage despite all obstacles. The world has expectations from us, and we must work to fulfil them,” he added.
