General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Western Command, Lieutenant General Manoj K. Katiyar, on Tuesday said any future aggression by Pakistan would invite a response more severe than the Operation Sindoor.

Speaking to media persons during a mega ex-servicemen rally here, Lt. General Katiyar said, “From the 1965 war to Operation Sindoor, new technology has emerged, but the courage of the Indian Army remains unchanged”.

“Pakistan used multiple drones recently, yet none of their attacks succeeded, including those targeting Jammu and Pathankot airports. Our anti-aircraft guns intercepted everything.”

He said that Operation Sindoor successfully destroyed Pakistani air bases and posts, but India is prepared for future attacks and will respond even more forcefully than last time.

The Western Command chief warned that a future counter-operation, “Operation Sindoor 2.0”, would be “deadlier” if Pakistan continues to engage in terrorism.

Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the 22 April Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 innocent tourists were killed and involved targeted strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

Lt. General Katiyar emphasised that Pakistan’s “way of thinking” must change, or it will continue to do what it has been doing so far, though the Indian Army is prepared to respond strongly to thwart its “nefarious designs”. He said though he is sure that Pakistan would not carry out any other misadventure, it cannot be ruled out, adding that ‘Operation Sindoor’ had not yet concluded.

Meanwhile, marking the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the historic 1965 Indo-Pak War, the Indian Army’s Tiger Division organised a series of commemorative events in Jammu to honour the extraordinary courage, valour and sacrifice of India’s brave soldiers who defended the Nation with unmatched resolve.

The ceremony commenced at Balidan Stambh with the hoisting of a majestic 50-feet-high National Flag, symbolising the Nation’s unity, pride and everlasting gratitude to its heroes. Thereafter, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar laid a wreath of honour, paying solemn tribute to the bravehearts of the Indian armed forces, paramilitary forces and police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The Army Commander also interacted with schoolchildren, NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, encouraging them to emulate the ideals of patriotism, discipline, and service to the Nation.
