On the eve of the completion of the Madhya Pradesh BJP Government’s two years in office, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav asserted on Friday that the state government has taken, and is continuously taking, concerted steps for the welfare of the poor, farmers, tribals, women, and youth, and is committed to making MP a developed state.

Dr Yadav had taken the oath as the CM of MP on 13 December 2023.

Addressing media persons at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre at Bhopal, Dr Yadav noted, “The state government found opportunities even in adversities and maintained the speed of development”.

He emphasised that the government has succeeded in ending the Naxal menace in the state.

Speaking at length regarding the government’s achievements during the period and future schemes, he provided details about the eradication of the Maoist menace in the state, the recent surrender of rebels, the improving police system, and the extension of the irrigation sphere.

Referring to preparations for Simhastha-2028 at his hometown, Ujjain, the CM underlined the importance of the construction of a massive lake through a Rs 800-crore scheme for keeping the Kshipra River flowing perennially and the process of keeping the Khan River’s pollution under control.

The Chief Minister shared details about industry conclaves for investment and employment generation, job opportunities from Dhar’s PM Mitra Park, the banning of alcohol consumption in 12 holy towns, Ek Bagiya Maa Ke Naam Yojana, Jal Ganga campaign, and work done on bovine-rearing and cattle sheds. He noted that a partnership was formed with Amul for encouraging milk production and establishing the state’s Sanchi brand at the national level.

“One gets glimpses of both development and heritage in the achievements of the two years. The state is relentlessly advancing on the path of progress,” Dr Yadav reiterated.

Four books on the Yadav government’s achievements were released on the occasion.

The Chief Minister also announced that the state’s formation day, on 1 November, would henceforth be celebrated for three days, and local citizens’ active participation would be ensured.
