Warmly interacting with the pilgrims inside the temple complex, the chief minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their unwavering devotion. “To be present on the sacred land of Baba Bhoramdeo on the third Sawan Monday and witness the faith of thousands of Shiv bhakts is both an honour and a spiritual privilege. Their journey, walking hundreds of kilometres, is a living reflection of our vibrant cultural heritage,” he said.

On the occasion, the CM also honoured Pandariya MLA Bhavna Bohra, who undertook a 151-kilometre padyatra from Amarkantak to Bhoramdeo to perform the Jalabhishek. She was presented with a saffron robe and a shriphal in recognition of her devotion.

Highlighting development initiatives, the chief minister announced that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Swadesh Darshan Yojana 2.0 has sanctioned an ambitious ₹146 crore Bhoramdeo Corridor Development Project. “This project will revamp the temple complex and connect historic and spiritual sites including Madwa Mahal, Cherki Mahal, Ramchuwa and the Saroda reservoir, turning Bhoramdeo into a major spiritual-tourism destination,” CM Sai stated.

He further informed that a process is underway to allocate five acres of land in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh, to establish a large pilgrim rest house for Chhattisgarh devotees visiting Amarkantak. Concluding his visit, the chief minister extended Sawan greetings to devotees, remarking that “today’s flower shower from the skies has added a celestial aura to this sacred day.”

The Bhoramdeo Temple is a spiritual and architectural marvel built in the 11th century, stands in Chaura village, about 18 kilometres from Kawardha. Known as the “Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh,” it holds immense significance during the month of Sawan, when thousands of devotees gather to offer Jalabhishek to Lord Shiva.

Pilgrims from across Kabirdham, Mungeli, Bemetara, Khairagarh, Rajnandgaon, and Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh walk barefoot across hilly terrain, chanting “Bol Bam” and carrying sacred water from the Narmada River. Their destination: holy shrines like Baba Bhoramdeo, Jaleshwar Mahadev in Dongariya, and Panchmukhi Budha Mahadev.
